You Just Can't Make This Stuff Up

I am single.
And getting old.
So I have met, been set-up with, and dated more guys than I can count,  or remember the names of.
Part of my search for "the one" has involved the online thing {cringe}.
If I was into truck drivers, puppeteers, and one-eyed horse shoers...the whole thing could have really worked for me!
There are some interesting folks out in cyberspace.
And I seem to attract them and dating websites label them as my "match."  Really?

Some of the messages I have received from these guys are just too good not to share.
So without changing any punctuation or grammar, let me introduce you to a little sampling of my dating pool!

Option #1 - "Hi this is Tariq I wish to friendship you.  Please reply me."
(I sense a language barrier)

Option #2 - "You're kinda cute."
(yep, that's all he wrote)

Option #3 - "Hmmm so would you say you are more of a Robyn Hood or a
Batman and Robyn type?"
(huh?)

Option #4 - "not really a fan of your name cute pics tho"
(totally won over by his charm)

Option #5 - "You seem cute and nice...like a teddy bear."
(a comparison I have always longed for)

Option #6 - "We should hang out sometime chica."
(you lost me at "chica")

Option #7 - "There was this girl who loved horses...we'd call her the "weird horse girl"...I just noticed you kinda look like her."
(weird horse girl - awesome)

And finally...

Option #8 - "My Queen you just captured my heart and my eyes with your lovely smile, and beauty and now you have charmed me with your beauty and smile please come and remove the spell... I simply want you to know how happy i'm to met you here and i want you to know that you are so so so so beauty in nature... Heaven's number one creature...lol... My Queen i'm Nelson from Ghana and i really love to know you more... Take care and hope to hear from you soon... :) "
(I smell a green card)

So, who do you think I should pick?

Friday Five

one.

So excited to finally own this fragrance from Banana Republic.  When I saw the packaging I knew it needed to be part of my life at some point.  Well, the stars aligned and it was 40% off this week!

two.

Kind of loving these pieces on my bathroom vanity.

three.

How cute are the Orla Kiely designs on these new Method soaps from Target?
Can you tell I'm a sucker for cute packaging?

four.

Mrs. Romney - she's a class act.

five.

As I am always in pursuit of the perfect foundation I tried two more samples this week from Sephora.
I wanted to try a BB Cream so Smashbox was my pick.  I really liked it!  I liked it even better with a little bit of my second sample mixed with it - Urban Decay's new Naked Skin.  Two great choices that I would recommend you give a try!

Friday Five

one.

So excited to be close to the beach again!

two.

Envious of my mom's green thumb.

three.

I think I may have a small obsession with makeup bags.  Love the cute patterns and shapes and sizes.  After realizing that nobody needs this many I gave some to my nieces.  They were so excited.

four.

Saw this flower yesterday in San Diego and fell in love.  Any ideas what it is called?

five.

My new testtube arrived and I'm loving everything in it!

A Little Lost

I have been feeling lost lately as to the direction that my new adventure is taking me.  So, it has been a little quiet on dearwellington.
I moved back to California at the end of June.
I left an amazing job behind that I had been doing for the last 12 years.
For 12 years I knew what I would be doing in the middle of August.
August meant back to school.  It meant gathering new ideas, sharpening brand new pencils, organizing and decorating a classroom.
This August is so different.
I knew with this move that a career change would also be part of the deal.  I don't have a credential to teach in CA and it's no secret that teaching jobs here are few and far between.

So, what will I be doing?
I don't know yet.

Will I still be sharing teaching ideas?
I think so.

Am I excited, nervous, and hopeful?
Yep.

Stay tuned...

4th of July Inspiration

The 4th of July is just around the corner and maybe I am particularly excited about this one because I will be celebrating it at my new place in California.  No more plane rides to spend the holidays with the family...I'll get to  hop in my car and probably even before I finish belting out The Star Spangled Banner I'll be there...eeekkk!  I'm kind of excited about all of that.

Here are some ideas I'm thinking need to be part of the celebration...

Friday Five

Linking up once again with Lauren with 5 of my favorite things from the week!

one.
I finished packing up my classroom which allowed me the chance to go through EVERYTHING and I loved coming across so many notes/cards/pictures from sweet students over the last 12 years.

two.
These flip flops are another fun student-created gift.
I'm thinking they match my toenails perfectly!

three.
I am in love with rugs and chairs right now.  Here are a few I'm drooling over...

four.
Loving this 4th of July printable {and it's free}.

five.
Keeping these quotes in mind as I prepare for a major move in the next couple of weeks...

Happy Friday!
